About Us

Dr. Lassa J. Frank has received and extensive education, including degrees from UCLA in Psycho-Biology and Oceanography, as well as graduate Optometric training at UC Berkeley. To become a Doctor of Optometry he completed studies in anatomy, physiology, zoology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, neurology, bacteriology, microbiology, public health, disease processes and detection, pharmacology, and many other related topics. Dr. Frank has also undergone numerous post-graduate education programs. Upon completion of the national board examination TMOD (The Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease), he became Board Certified to treat many pathological conditions of the human eye.
 
This in-depth training has prepared Dr. Frank to be the primary health care provider for all of your visual needs. He regularly works with, refers to, and receives referrals from professionals throughout the health care community. Dr Frank is a member in good standing of the California Optometric Association (COA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). He is also a member of the Optometric Retinal Society, the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the AOA and the Sports Vision Section of the AOA.  
In addition, Dr. Frank is also one of the originators of the non-profit organization "Help The World To See." This organization, which has grown into a multi-million dollar non-profit, sponsors many volunteer eye care projects throughout the world by providing support, supplies, equipment, and advice.
 
Through this and other organizations, Dr. Frank has personally led teams on numerous trips to East and West Africa, most of Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico. In so doing, he has given over 25,000 free eye exams and 20.000 eyeglasses to the poor of the world. Dr. Frank has been in practice in Marin for over twenty years.
